#1-10 of 100

This series started with soft color and harder marks. The lines made with ink, divided the space and started to create a sense of space. Black stencils on tissue paper provided some grounding, and combing the paint added more dynamic movement. Collage was added to create pattern and layers of interest. I decided to use larger brushed and palette knives with thicker paint to begin shaping the Hudson River landscape that is right outside my window. I enjoy watching the changing seasons on the river and the light at different times of day. The clouds, sunsets, and activity along the river are exciting and change all of the time.
