Original Acrylic Mixed Media Painting "Great Blue" Pond Series

This artwork is about pond life. I created a series of six art works around the subject of water, plants, and animals. I was inspired by a large intuitive painting started on 24" X 36" paper. I cut the paper into six sections and then decided on my image from photographs taken locally and through my travels. The painting was built up in layers of value and pattern. I use layers of hand printed transparent collage papers to add further depth and interest in textures. The finish work is mounted to a 12" square cradled board. The work comes varnished for UV protection. The sides are painted and it comes ready to hang in a black floating frame. The artwork can also be hung as a series of 3 or more to create a visual impact in your home.
